MISSION TRIPS & TEAMS
Each year Cypress sends out teams of teenagers and/or adults to serve others - both here in the United States and in other countries around the globe. Teams may serve for only a weekend or perhaps as long as two weeks. Participating as part of a short-term mission team is a life-changing experience. It allows one the opportunity to step away from normal everyday activities to a place where one's entire focus is on serving God through serving others. Our hearts, minds, ears and eyes become more finely tuned to perceive the presence of God and to discern His will. Trips that are in the works...
Zambia, AFRICA thru World Hope International
July 2008
Dates: June 30-July 13, 2008
Approximate cost: $3,400 per person (most of which is airfare) + the cost of vaccinations. We will do some group fundraising.
Destination: Lusaka's John Howard Compound, Choma - where the Skills Training Center will be built, and Livingstone at the end of the trip to see Victoria Falls which is one of the 7 Wonders of the World
No particular skills are required to be a part of this team. The only requirements are that one must:
- Be a follower of Christ
- Be willing to operate as a team
- Be committed to cover one's financial obligation
- Be committed to attend ALL scheduled team meetings, fundraiser, and other events
- Want to have their eyes, ears & heart opened to the plight of the African people, then be willing to do something about it
- Be willing to LOVE the Zambians in a very hands-on fashion
This year's team consists of the following members: William Martin (team leader), Scott and Denise Davis, Stacey Yeager, and Cathie Blue. We appreciate your prayers for the team as they prepare and then go.
If you desire to help any of the team members with their personal fundraising, you are welcome to give donations through Cypress. Please contact Laurie Hurd, 878-8192, ext. 232, for the proper procedure.
