VOLUNTEERING IS REWARDING
Without parents and other church volunteers, we wouldn’t have a great children’s ministry. It takes 80 volunteers each week to keep our children’s area running smoothly!  Each person contributes to our success in teaching our Cypress kids about having a relationship with Jesus.

General Volunteer Procedures

  • A Volunteer Application must be completed each year. All volunteers are subject to a background check.
  • A great place to learn about our policies and procedures is in the Connecting Point booklet we give to parents.
  • MainStreet (infant through preschool) and UpStreet (Kindergarten through 5th grade) are different in many ways, but in both areas, we need volunteers to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled service so we can make drop-off/pick-up transitions easier. We also want to update you of any changes or special circumstances in your area.
  • Use the schedule emailed or mailed to you to arrange a trade with another volunteer. Once you have made arrangements, please contact your coordinator of the change. A printable copy is available below:

  • Review the lesson material (UpStreet table leaders) before your class and pray for the kids you will be leading.
  • Remember to wear your name tag.
  • Make sure kids have a name tag before they are dropped off. If they don’t, please send parents to the Jellybean Counter.
  • Sign in each child on the roster in your classroom.

Children’s Ministry Who’s Who
During adult worship services, children attend an age appropriate class where they are nurtured and cared for by loving Cypress Volunteers.

  • Kathy George is the Director of Children’s Ministry.
  • At the Jellybean Counter, our volunteers are called the Host Team or “red coats.”
  • Lynn Tuggle is the Assistant Director of Children's Ministry.
  • Toni Brown oversees the Early Childhood (infant through age 5) area.
  • Each age group on Main Street (infant through age 5) has a coordinator who facilitates the room.
  • In UpStreet (Kindergarten through 5th grade), each table has a table leader.
  • Linda Davis is the Administrative Assistant for the Children’s Ministry Department.
